Super! Sounds good to me!

Topic: General / Music on kompoz.com?

I started a project at kompoz.com, where we can do the music, check it out.

When tracks have been uploaded, there is an embeddable player available. Maybe this is a good way to work with the music here on cinemango? We could do a little mashup so that every project has a corresponding music page, where the kompoz player can be embedded.

Good. I think this is how Schrödinger would have wanted to see it, should he not have had that unfortunate gasoline incident…

Topic: Story / [Episode] Schrödinger's hamster

This is a good starting point!
(Jörgen: can’t we get Andy be our Physics Consultant!!?)

Ha, somehow I also depict smulan chewing on stuff all the time. Not like she’s hungry – she just can’t help it. Like a reflex. Anything that’s under her mouth gets chewed on.

I think the term “Schrödinger’s cat” is too advanced. The layman’s version is of course:

- vignette, fade in -

“You might have wondered, does the refrigerator lamp go out when you close the door?”, says Gunnar holding a light bulb.

“Well, of course it does! Everyone knows that. The really big question in science right now is”, Gunnar pauses, throws away the bulb and comes closer.

“Does gasoline burn when the refrigirator door is closed? or does it go out too? What do you think Smulan?”

- chew chew -
“Ooh i don’t know – science is tricky!”

“Yes, it sure is! And the only way to know is to.. test it!”, Gunnar brings up a tank of gasoline and steps aside to reveal the refrigerator.

“Awh test it!” says Smulan happily and chews faster.

“But first – protection!” Gunnar brings up a pair of protective glasses.

Smulan scratches her ear with her hind leg for a short second before Gunnar puts the glasses on Smulan. They are bigger than she is and just lies on top of her. Smulan sits completely still looking through one of the glasses.

“Ok I will now put some sample gasoline into the refrigirator.”

Gunnar opens the refrigirator door, brings up the gasoline again and starts pouring gasoline all over the place. There’s gasoline pretty much everywhere, in the refrigirator, on the refrigirator, on Gunnar, on the table and on Smulan.

“There we go.”

Smulan sneezes. “Ah-chi! – there we go!”

“Now, step 2! Close the door and put the sample gasoline on fire!”

Gunnar is holding a packet of matches which he throws into the refrigirator. He then picks up Smulan with two hands. Her little legs are sticking out here and there twitching, and the protective glasses are in there somewhere too.

Gunnar puts Smulan into the refrigirator, “Wait for the signal, ok?” and closes the door and turns to the camera.

“Dear audience, we are ready to begin our scientific experiment.” The camera slowly zooms in. “Inside we have my assistant Smulan, which will in a second..”

A loud mumbling explosion is heard and the refrigirator door springs open and the sound becomes a really sharp second woff-bang. The room is instantly filled with fire. Smulan flies onto the camera lens with the protective glasses somewhat around her belly, holding a burnt match. Her fur is instantly charchoaled. Smulan slides down and appears on the table, “burnt out”. On leg is twitching a little.

Gunnar is smacked to the side by the refrigirator door giving a “Ohmpf”-sound and reappears in view after while – quite ok – considering what just happend.

“Oh my head! Gee, what happend?” Gunnar takes a look around.

“I told you to wait for the signal, Smulan!?”

“Uuh, it got dark, I just lit a match..”

“There you have it folks, the lamp does go out, gasoline doesn’t”

- end vignette -

Topic: Story / [Episode] Schrödinger's hamster

Gunnar is hearing more and more about the latest fad: quantum physics. In a textbook on the subject he stumbles upon the thought experiment Schrödinger’s cat.

Gunnar takes a long sideways glance at poor Smulan, who’s chewing away on a piece of cucumber. Smulan looks back, like “Oh no you don’t…”

With the Nobel Price within reach, Gunnar is on a mission…

Ok – how is this going to end? And how do we motivate that Gunnar might actually be prepared to gas poor Smulan to death?

Obviously we need some fire in this episode also. In fact, as far as I’m concerned every episode could end with poor smulan looking like a crispy critter, super skinny with all fur burned away.

Cute little bastards. Smulan just needs to be a fur ball with a face, actually…

Teaching by day. Wreaking havoc by night.

Science. It’s about control and repeatability.
Something that will never happen in Gunnar’s lab…

Smulan is very attached to her fur. But not for long.

INT. LAB – NIGHT
We are introduced to the quirky scientist and his friend/pet.

Gunnar experiments on a refrigerator. There will be gasoline involved.

The episode ends with Gunnar Trafo injuring both himself and the innocent Smulan.
